Spirituality and Science - Part 2

Prior to the Big Bang, there was just one consciousness that was in serenity, nirvana - the perfect one. Space, matter, energy are the irregularities that blew up from this perfect state. But why did that happen?

As a result of this Big Bang we now have countless ‘I’ in the Universe. Every single living being considers itself to be a separate entity i.e. a separate ‘I’. Why did the perfect one blow up when it could have continued to be in singularity? Given below are my opinions only and any debate on this topic are welcome.

I am going to take help from the movie ‘Matrix Revolutions’ to explain the answers. There is this war that happens between the humans and the machines. If you observe the machines properly, you may note one interesting point - There are millions of machines that are in war BUT there is just ONE machine consciousness, the Machine Mainframe. As Morpheus says - “A singular consciousness that spawned an entire race of machines”. There is only one ‘I’ on the machine side - one that orders and obeys, leads and follows - The ONE that is everything and everywhere.

Probably there is no other example to explain this. One consciousness, but many in appearance. Now let us go a step further and imagine something that actually did not happen in the movie. Let us say that two of the individual machines chose separate, i.e. be able to decide on their own and own a separate ‘I’. The moment this happens, these machines automatically bring themselves down from the omnipresent existence to a very limited existence. They own and feel their consciousness alone, and are no more connected to each other or the mainframe. Because of a wrong choice.

Does this sound familiar? Well, this is exactly what we did. WE caused singularity to break down. WE initiated the Big Bang. WE chose to be what we are today. Trapped in our own dream made of Matter and Time. We were one with singularity and actually still are. Its just that we still continue to dream to be separate from singularity. We choose to be separate. ‘I’, ‘me’ and ‘mine’ prevail.

We separating from singularity should never be understood like cutting pieces out of a cake. Because quantity is a meaningless term in the context. I will take a simple example from Mathematics and try to explain. Given here is an equation: (1/x) + (2/x) = (3/x)

Looks so simple. But when x tends to 0 entire equation is absurd. We have Infinity + Infinity = Infinity. How can one thing constitute of two other of the same kind? That simpy does not make sense! Or does it?

You can divide a consciousness into as many individual consciousnesses as you want. That neither reduces the original consciousness nor makes the other finite. If you try to make an equation out of those it will look exactly as the one above.

If we are dreaming, how do we wake up? Why should I wake up, I am happy in my dream !! What happens if I wake up?

There are some better and difficult to answer questions ! “You say that I was in a perfect singular state and then I started dreaming. Ok I agree. I will try and wake up one day. But how can you guarantee that I won’t start dreaming again? In that case, why should I wake up at all ?!”

Any help in finding answers to these question are welcome. I would love to have everyone’s opinion on this topic rather than just being a frog in my own well !!
